SEA STORY'S for sale... It's been a tough decision, but after 9 years of wonderful sailing, I've decided to put Sea Story up for sale. She's in better shape than she's ever been, but there's no avoiding the need for more space, now that we're spending at least half the year as live-aboards. We will be here in Ventura for the next couple of months. After that, it will either be here or San Diego. Sea Story is a nine-ton, 39' Pearson sloop built in 1987 at the
TPI yard in Portsmouth, RI. She measures 39' LOA, and 12'8" at the beam. She's a well tested ocean cruiser with thousands of blue-water miles under her keel. Unlike earlier Pearson models, she has a center-board equiped fin keel, and a spade rudder. Draft is 4' 8" with the board up and and 8' 9" with the board down.
She has a single head with a shower stall; a cockpit shower, a V berth with vanity, queen sized aft berth, twin galley sinks, a 3-burner propane stove, and a a 12V refrigerator.
Electronics include a Garmin 541 GPS; Furuno 1731, 24-mile radar; an ICOM IC-175 SSB; a Standard Horizon VHF radio with AIS receiver and RAM cockpit mike; and a Raymarine Smartpilot, below deck auto-pilot.
Sails are Quantum 8.8 oz, heavy duty dacron main and 110% Genoa on a Shaffer 3100 roller furler. Spare 150% Genoa and storm sail included.
Deck canvas includes a bimini w/ detachable sun screens, a dodger, stack-pack and cockpit cushions..
Deck equipment includes stainless railing to mid-ships; Lewmar 55, self-tailing winchs; boom gallows; outboard davits and adjustable spinnaker pole. Tankage: 100 gal. water, 50 gal. diesel, and 36 gal. holding tank drained by deck pump-out or macerator.
Cabin gear: 22" flat-screen HDTV, Clarion CD stereo; DVD player, brass trawler lamp; oak tool chest; HP wireless printer,
Auxiliary power - Yanmar 3HM35F w/ upgrade 85 amp alternator; rebuilt starter; Racor fuel filters and vacumn gauges, totally replaced exhaust hose, alternate starter switch, fresh water flush fittings. Batteries: 4ea, 6V house; 1 ea, 12V starter; an Isolator; and a West Marine 40 amp smart charger. Solar Panels: 2 ea, 85V w/ 25 amp, Blue Sky regulator.
Extra equipment includes an LED, masthead tri-color, and a Shaft Shark line cutter on the drive shaft.
